Women on the Board of Directors

The aim of the “Armenia. Women on the Board of Directors” is to promote the representation of women members on the Board of Directors of Armenian organizations and women’s involvement in the economic decision-making process.

Within the framework of the Project, the Corporate Governance Center conducted an unprecedented training in Armenia, which was intended for acting and potential female members of the Board of Directors.

The content of the training was developed taking into account the international trends in corporate governance and activities of board of directors. The training was conducted in combination with theoretical and practical exercises.

Well-known local and international experts such as Arpi Karapetyan, Elena Khachvankyan, Hasmik Khachatryan, Hagen Schweinitz, Narine Melikyan, Tigran Karapetyan, and Tigran Davtyan were selected as trainers.

29 women have successfully completed the training.

Within the framework of the Project, the Corporate Governance Center conducted an expert survey on “Women on the Board of Directors” (the results are presented here).

Another Project activities are:

  • Development of an e-guide on “Women on the Board of Directors”,
  • Establishment of a network for acting and potential members of the Board of Directors.

The project was launched in April, 2021, and is supported by the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE, www.cipe.org).
