- to continuously develop the abilities of Armenian women to act on boards and in executive teams;
- to support the visibility and recognition of women participating on boards and/or executive teams of organisations, or with relevant potential, in the business environment;
- to create a pool of talented Armenian women who are interested, willing, and able to assume responsibilities as board members and/or executives of organisations;
- to promote opportunities for exchanging experience and establishing business contacts among AWOB participants;
- to serve as a link between Armenian and foreign organisations.

The training aims to promote the professionalism and effectiveness of boards of Armenian organisations.
Current board members who wish to update their knowledge of board operations and modern trends and tools in corporate governance
Senior executives and corporate governance officers (corporate secretaries, internal auditors, risk management and compliance officers, business consultants, etc.) who see their future growth in serving as board members
Business owners who aim to establish a board within their organisations or improve the performance of their existing boards
Employees of competent state bodies seeking to promote the development of the corporate governance environment in Armenia
Individuals interested in corporate governance issues, whose share may not exceed 10% of the total number of training participants
- The essence and economic necessity of corporate governance, and contemporary trends
- The role of the board in the corporate governance framework, its key functions, composition and structure, the status, rights and responsibilities of board members
- Finance for non-financial board members
- The board’s role in shaping corporate strategy
- The legislation regulating the activities of companies in Armenia
The core training topics are complemented by the presentation of current issues in corporate governance, delivered in a master class format.
The 2025-2026 topics include:
- Approaches to Promoting Women’s Representation on Boards,
- The Impact of Digitalisation on Governance,
- Evaluation of Board Effectiveness,
- Board Evaluation: Armenian Experience,
- How to Become a Board Member.
During the training, participants will have the opportunity for thematic interaction with leading local and international experts in the field.
The 2025 topics include:
- Women on Boards of Companies: WoB Index – 2025,
- The Internal Auditor in the Corporate Governance Framework,
- Human Resource Management on the Board Agenda.
To promote the interactivity of the teaching, a role-playing game (board simulation) is held within the framework of the training.
Participants will be provided with electronic manuals covering the main topics of the training.

The training will be delivered through a combination of online and in-person sessions.
The sessions will generally be held twice a week, two hours per day, from 16:00 to 18:00.
Only those participants who have actively attended at least 60% of the training sessions are eligible to take the Final Examination.
The Final Examination is conducted in person only, according to the announced timetable.
The test questions for the Final Examination are developed based on the training manuals.
Participants who correctly answer at least 70% of the test questions will be awarded a Certificate of Successful Completion of the training.
Participants who do not reach the minimum passing threshold will receive a Certificate of Participation or may be given the opportunity to retake the test.
The test may be retaken only once.
A training participant must be among the addressees of the training and must have:
A higher education degree and at least five years of professional work experience, and
An active LinkedIn account.
The requirement for professional work experience may be waived only for students in the final year of their bachelor’s or master’s studies who have a demonstrated interest in corporate governance issues.
The application for participation in the training shall be submitted by November 7, 18:00.
Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
The application must be accompanied by the following documents:
- Letter of Interest, which should justify the applicant’s motivation to participate in the training and indicate the possible practical application of the acquired knowledge;
- At least one Letter of Recommendation, which must be signed by the recommending person.
The Letter of Interest and the Letter of Recommendation shall be submitted in Armenian, in scanned format.
The training is FREE of charge.
The training is implemented by the Corporate Governance Center, in collaboration with the Center for International Private Enterprise and as part of the ”Responding to Threats of Corrosive Capital in Armenia. Phase III” project, funded by the UK International Development from the UK Government.
