The Corporate Governance Center, in collaboration with the US Department of Commerce’s Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) and the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), held its annual conference on corporate governance matters in Armenia on May 17th.
The key topics of the Conference were business integrity, promoting the principles of diversity and inclusion in corporate relations and their benefits, and the role of the board of directors in driving cultural changes. The main matters were presented from two perspectives: international developments and Armenian realities. The Conference also highlighted measures aimed at promoting a culture of corporate governance and business integrity as outlined in the new RA Anti-Corruption Strategy and its Resulting Action Plan. During the Conference, the experience of local corporate governance and those of countries at a comparable stage of development were presented, along with the main development trends.
The Conference was rightly international. International experts invited from CLDP, IFC, CIPE, ecoDa, INSEAD, board members of local and foreign companies made their significant contribution to the Conference. The Conference was attended by not only local but also stakeholders from Eastern Europe and Central Asia interested in corporate governance matters.
