On March 16, the Corporate Governance Center convened an open meeting of the Business Integrity Club, which was devoted to the topic of ‘’Collective Anti-Corruption Actions of Businesses and Their Accountability”.
Frank Brown, Director of the Anti-Corruption and Governance Center of the Center for International Private Enterprise, participated as a speaker at the Meeting.
During the Meeting, Frank Brown presented several successful examples of anti-corruption collective actions of businesses (Thailand, Malaysia) formed with the support of the Center for International Private Enterprise.
The topics of sanctions (Russia, Iran) and ensuring compliance in their context were also touched upon during the discussion.
Hasmik Tigranyan, the Head of Anti-Corruption Monitoring Division and National Coordinator of Armenia in OECD Anti-Corruption Network, detailed the role of public structures formed in Armenia as a result of the anti-corruption reforms and the course of reforms. She also highlighted the necessity of assessing and managing corruption risks within the framework of interactions between private and public sectors.
Narine Melikyan, the Director of the Corporate Governance Center, presented the Anti-Corruption Compliance Progress Report as a means to communicate the implementation of the Anti-Corruption Declaration principles and its performance by the Business Integrity Club participants in their business practices. She noted that the report will be detailed during the seminar-meetings to be organized for the Business Integrity Club participants.
