Staying true to its mission, the Corporate Governance Center translated the G20/OECD Principles of Corporate Governance revised in 2023 and convened a workshop on March 21 which aimed to present the Principles to the interested parties and, in their light, to detail the most urgent corporate governance topics and to identify the features of Armenia’s corporate governance landscape.
Several esteemed experts were invited to the Workshop as speakers: Hagen Schweinitz, Global Practice Leader of Board & Governance Advisory Practice at Eric Salmon & Partners, Thomas Dannequin, Policy Analyst at Capital Markets and Financial Institutions Division of OECD, Sabine Everaet, Independent Board Member at the Belgian companies Datatec and ING Belgium, Ekaterina Lysova, Program Director at the Center for International Private Enterprise, Ann Sultan, Partner of Miller & Chevalier, Valeria Fazio, Partner of BDO Italy.
In their speeches, within the context of the G20/OECD Principles of Corporate Governance, they addressed the role of the board of directors within the evolving business world and new challenges, integration of digital technologies into the corporate governance framework, corporate integrity, and ethical leadership, the interplay between corporate governance and investment attractiveness, as well as sustainability and business resilience issues.
As for Armenia’s corporate governance landscape, representatives from the RA Central Bank, the Ministries of Economy and Justice, and the Corruption Prevention Commission presented its features and development trends.
