The Corporate Governance Center held its annual conference on June 17, 2022. This year it was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Center and was held under the headline “Corporate Governance: Integrity in Business Community”.
Annual conferences of the Corporate Governance Center address the most relevant topics of corporate governance, as well as opportunities and perspectives for their implementation in the corporate sector of Armenia.
The Deputy Minister of Justice of RA Yeranuhi Tumanyants had an opening speech at the Conference, emphasizing the need to create a culture of anti-corruption compliance and integrity in the business community as a guarantee of improving the business environment and ensuring its viability.
The group of international and local experts clarified a number of issues related to good governance, particularly the need for a culture of integrity in business community, the role of the Board of Directors in it, the promoting and supporting role of the Business Integrity Club in ethical guidance related matters, representation of Armenian women on corporate boards and strengthening their inclusion in corporate decision-making process, the impact of good governance on the long-term development of companies and increasing their investment attractiveness.
The Conference was held in an atmosphere of open and free discussions.
About 100 participants representing business, public and private sectors of Armenia, as well as international companies attended the Conference.
The Conference was organized within the “EURASIA: CREATING ENABLING ENVIRONMENTS FOR CONSTRUCTIVE CAPITAL, PHASE II” project implemented with the support of the Center for International Private Enterprise.
