The Corporate Governance Center held its first Open Doors Day on January 30 to discuss and clarify issues arising in the practical application of the principles of the RA Corporate Governance Code (Code).
During the event, CGC Director Narine Melikyan addressed the key challenges related to the implementation of the Code. These challenges were provisionally grouped into the following categories: legal and regulatory, institutional, economic environment, cultural and behavioral, and internal corporate issues. This was followed by discussions of both the questions and observations submitted in advance and those raised by participants during the event.
According to participants’ feedback, the responses to the issues raised were comprehensive and well-grounded. The participants included representatives of the business community, the public sector, and civil society. With the same objective, CGC plans to hold a second Open Doors Day in May-June of the current year. Potential stakeholders will be notified in advance.
The Open Doors Day was implemented by the Corporate Governance Center, in collaboration with the Center for International Private Enterprise and as part of the ”Responding to Threats of Corrosive Capital in Armenia. Phase III” project, funded with UK International Development from the UK government.
